Water Treatment Electrical services
Few electrical installations carry higher stakes than the ones behind a water treatment plant.
When the electrics stop, the water stops, and communities feel it. SBE delivers the electrical engineering behind critical water and wastewater infrastructure across Ireland, built for the resilience these systems demand. We provided the electrical engineering for the Leixlip Water Treatment Plant, part of the infrastructure supplying water to the greater Dublin area.
What we do for Water Treatment Projects
We handle the electrical scope that powers and controls a treatment plant, engineered for continuous, safety-critical operation.
Process power distribution.
Power for the pumps, motors, blowers, dosing, and filtration that drive the treatment process.
Motor control and drives.
Motor control centres and variable speed drives that run process equipment efficiently and reliably.
Control and instrumentation.
Power and containment for control, instrumentation, and SCADA systems, coordinated cleanly with the process specialists.
Standby and resilient power.
Generators, dual supplies, and UPS so treatment and supply are protected when the mains fails.
Robust containment.
Corrosion-resistant, rated installations built to last in wet, harsh, and demanding conditions.
Energy management.
Metering and controls to manage the heavy energy load that a treatment plant carries.
Built for infrastructure that can’t go down.
Water and wastewater treatment are round-the-clock operations that communities rely on, so resilience is designed into everything we do. Standby power, redundancy, and robust engineering keep supply protected even when something fails upstream.
Much of this work also happens on plants that are already live and cannot simply be switched off. We phase our work carefully, coordinate shutdowns, and arrange temporary supplies so treatment continues while we deliver. And because these are wet, corrosive, and sometimes hazardous environments, we specify installations rated to perform in them, all delivered to our safety-first, ISO 45001 accredited standards.
One partner, from design to maintenance.
Because SBE is a turnkey contractor, everything a water treatment project needs comes from one team. Our in-house engineers handle the electrical services engineering, we can deliver the package on a single design and build contract, and we keep critical systems dependable with planned electrical testing and maintenance and responsive support.
Why SBE for Water Treatment
Four decades of experience, and critical infrastructure like the Leixlip Water Treatment Plant behind us, mean we understand the resilience and rigour these projects demand. You get in-house engineering, installations built for the harshest conditions, value engineering that respects tight infrastructure budgets, and a safety-first approach on every site.

What water infrastructure do you work on?
Water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and related infrastructure, from process power to plant-wide electrical packages.
Can you work on a live, operational plant?
Yes. We phase our work, coordinate shutdowns, and arrange temporary supplies so treatment and supply continue while we deliver.
Do you provide standby power and resilience?
Yes. Generators, dual supplies, and UPS are central to how we protect a plant against loss of supply.
